Are You Rejected or Others Favoured Over You?

« Previous DayDoes God see the constant rejection I've endured? Of course, God knows the sting of every rejection I’ve faced. His eyes see everything, the good and the evil (Proverbs 15:3). Even Jesus, the Son of God, experienced rejection on the cross. He understands the pain of betrayal and rejection, yet He offered forgiveness. He showed us the Father’s heart, a heart that sees our pain, understands our struggle, and expects us to extend grace to those who have been unkind towards us. You are seen. You are loved. And your pain matters to Him.
Words or actions can scream, “You don’t belong here!” This breeds insecurity, fear, and inadequacy, leaving you feeling like a misfit. Don’t let that judgment define you.
We may live as a spiritual orphan, but God declares, “I will be his father, and he shall be my son!” (1 Chronicles 17:13). David, upon hearing this promise, responded with heartfelt gratitude for God’s grace.
Even when earthly parents reject us, God assures us, “The Lord will receive you.” Unlike imperfect earthly figures, God is the perfect Father, without favouritism. He sent His Son to redeem us, so we can relate to Him as our Father.
Embrace this truth. You are not an orphan. You are a child of God. As David did, you may find you need to retreat and sit quietly before the Lord, reflecting on His promises.
In our desire to shield ourselves from further rejection, we often isolate, but this grieves God. His kingdom thrives on love, togetherness, mutual respect, and sharing each other’s burdens. Remember, the Holy Spirit can transform us, but only to the degree we allow Him. Embrace connection and let His presence guide you toward healing and community.
Have you deliberately rejected someone? Rejecting others wounds them, and dishonours God, who created them in His image. Repent, confess your role in rejecting them. Receive God’s forgiveness and cleansing. Though the person you rejected may not accept you, Jesus embraces those who are repentant.
How have you expressed your pain in response to rejection? Was it in anger, rudeness, offensive language, judgmentalism, criticism, or self-comforting measures such as overeating, drinking alcohol, or taking drugs? You need to repent, confess, and receive forgiveness from the Lord for these things which displease the Lord.
You need to forgive the one who rejected you, and give the pain to Jesus. He is able to give us His peace.
