The Perfect Reflection

When Paul wrote this verse he was talking about the confidence and freedom that we have in Christ when the veil was torn, enabling us (like Moses) to see and reflect the glory of God. Unlike Moses, we don’t need to hide the glory!
My husband and I lived in the Highlands of Scotland for a few years and never grew tired of the amazing scenery, which constantly changed with the seasons and weather conditions. The Highlands have magnificent mountains, glens, beautiful beaches, picturesque lochs, rivers and forests. Being Scottish, I may be biased, but for me there are few places in the world more beautiful.
On a recent day out we travelled across to Inverness via the Moray Firth, and headed further north via the Cromarty Firth and the Dornoch Firth, cutting across some of the quieter roads with wonderful viewing points. The views were far-reaching. The sky was blue, the sun shone and the sea and lochs were like glass. The fields had been harvested and were adorned with hay bales, the heather was turning purple on the surrounding hills, the views of the forest, lochs and glens towards the coastline all added to the beautiful mix of stunning scenery. Because of the flat calm and mirror-like quaity of the water, the reflection on the water was almost a perfect mirror image of this glorious scenery. It was breathtaking.
Whilst this was an exceptional day, yet this verse promises us access to a perfect reflection every day. It is awesome to know that because of Jesus, we too can reflect the glory of the Lord and furthermore ‘we are being changed into His glorious image’. Our lives are being transformed by the Spirit as we grow in trust, obedience and faith, even if the ‘waters’ around us are troubled and the way ahead is not so clear.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that You have removed the veil and we can have access to You through Jesus Christ. Thank You that we can reflect Your love and glory each day and rejoice, despite all the trials and difficulties a day can bring. Help us to become more like Christ each day through the power of Your Holy Spirit transforming us. We ask it in Jesus`name and for Your glory, Amen.
