Faith
by Jill Southern
Faith is a gift of God; if anyone needs faith let him ask of God. How full is your faith tank? We must have an inflow of the life of the Spirit of God manifest in us to live by faith. Everything in us prefers to walk by sight. ‘When I have the resource I will move’ we say. That is walking by sight. If we try and fix it ourselves we will find that the power of God diminishes.
God has a greater plan for us in our future than we have ever dreamed of in our past. It is God’s delight to make possible for us what seems right now to be impossible. ‘Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God(Luke 18:27). Through faith all those things that have been obscured or hidden from us become clear. God wants us to implicitly trust Him by faith so that we may subdue kingdoms and work for righteousness.
True faith originates in the core of our saved being. We aren’t saved by mental agreement to certain statements or warm emotions, but by faith. ‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no-one can boast’ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Personal faith deeply believes that God will do as He says. Faith produces words of agreement. If God has said it then it cannot fail. If we believe: ‘For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken to us by the glory of God’ (2 Corinthians 1:20). GOD HAS PROMISED ME.
Today allow God to take absolute charge of the whole of your life and your circumstances. The alternative is that the cares of this world will blind your eyes to living by faith God’s way and you’ll not be able to see God’s truth.
What is that ‘impossible’ mountain in your life? Can you start to believe by faith today that nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible with God? If so, then bow your head now, hand over to God that ‘impossible situation’ and trust Him by faith.
Prayer: Dear Lord God, would You come and fill my empty faith tank. I desire today to walk by faith and not by sight, to trust You where I cannot see. I put my seemingly impossible situation of… on open palms to You. I know that nothing is impossible for You. I’m asking in the name of Jesus that You will hear my prayer. Give me Your peace that transcends my circumstances, that I may rest expectantly in You throughout today. Amen.
