New Eyes and New Ears

by Jim Person

Ears to hear and eyes to see, both are gifts from the Lord.
Proverbs 20:12, NLT

Many years ago, I was hired by my father to seek out fish that had fallen out of our nets as the tide went out, but especially at low tide. I had to develop eyes that would see the signs that indicated a fish on the beach, as well as hear the sounds that were accompanying that discovery. When I did hear and see well, it brought a blessing into my life of financial gain.

Our heavenly Father’s desire is for us to be able to see and hear well in our lives. This is a beautiful gift from Him. In order for us to be in this place, we must want to please Him. It will be a great gain in our lives to rightfully discern what is before us. Oh Lord, that I would be given eyes to see and ears to hear!

Receive the gift from the Lord! He has made both for us to enjoy the blessing of His favor upon us, as we seek to know Him, and all the things that He has held in His hands for us to receive.

Are you ready to receive from the Lord? Do you want to see what He is doing? Can I ask you … What is filling your ears? What is filling your eyes? I want to encourage you to align your hearing and seeing to the Lord’s focus today. It is a beautiful gift from Him.
