Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11
Testimony
Before the weekend I was completely unable to accept a part of the Lordship prayer where we acknowledge the Lord's control over "the manner and timing of my death". I needed or wanted an "out", to be able to control this for myself..... Read More...

God Sees, Hears and Knows

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7, NIV

Don’t be anxious! Paul writes that there’s nothing which should cause a child of God to worry. I often say that it’s easy to read or to say that but … Paul himself was well aware of things which could cause anxiety, not only in his own life, but in the lives of believers. His nation was occupied by a foreign power and ruled by corrupt leaders. He was writing from prison, where he was being held as a result of false accusations. He was separated from those he loved. His motives had been questioned, and he’d been misrepresented. Some were trying to undermine all he’d accomplished in starting churches. He suffered physically and faced imminent execution (2 Corinthians 11:23-29). Yet Paul said there would never be a crisis so troubling that God couldn’t bring peace in the midst of it.

God won’t necessarily take our problems away, or change our circumstances, but He will carry the load for us. Jesus said that we’re not of this world anymore, but we’re still in this world. In this world we’d have fears, but we could have courage because He’d overcome the world. He wants us to experience His peace, which is beyond human comprehension. We’ll never fully understand how God could give us peace in some of the situations we face, but we don’t have to understand it in order to experience it. This peace isn’t just for those who handle stress well, but for everyone. We might know that God wants to give us peace but wonder how this is possible, given what we’re presently facing. Yet Scripture says to be anxious for nothing. God’s Word clearly indicates that nothing we face is too difficult, too troubling or too fearful for God. No matter what our circumstances and challenges are, we can turn our worries over to God and receive His perfect peace. Luke 1:37 says: “For with God nothing shall be impossible!”

These are a few of God’s truths which have deeply impacted me recently. Due to different circumstances, I felt more and more cornered, a bit like God’s people in front of the Red Sea. Humanly speaking, there was no way forward, but also no turning back; an absolutely bleak situation. You all know the story and how God came through on behalf of His people. It was at the moment when Moses received a supernatural gift of faith and spoke certain words that the sea was parted: “Do not be afraid but see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. He will do battle for you and you only need to be still (or at peace)!”

During the ‘pressure cooker’ of the last few weeks, I finally surrendered everything to God; my life, our future and some other challenges we had to face. The day after, I woke up with a deep peace in my heart which surpassed my understanding and our circumstances. God didn’t present us with an outward solution, but He brought the inward solution in the midst of the circumstances. What an amazing God! And just a couple of days later, God very unexpectedly seemed to start moving on our behalf. What an amazing and faithful God and Father!

Prayer: Father, help me to entrust my life with all its circumstances into Your loving hands. Father, I bring You my worries, anxieties and fears. Help me to leave them with You and to trust You with the outcome. Father, I have to say, as did someone so long ago, “Lord I believe, help my unbelief”. Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You that You’ve never let me down. Thank You that You’re there for me to keep me safe and to give me everything I need, and beyond. men.
