Faith Walk
by Tanya Person
Years ago, my friend preached a message called ‘Wet Feet Faith’, which I have been reminded of lately. She used today’s scripture about how the Levites carrying the ark had to step into the Jordan River and then the water piled up and the Israelites were able to cross on dry land. Their faith required action.
Later, some other friends of ours were praying for a freezer. They had been praying for some time and God had not yet provided it. The first friend was visiting them and asked them where they would put the freezer when they got it. They showed her what they would move, and she recommended that they prepare the place in faith. Within a couple of days, God miraculously provided a freezer.
I recently came across this scripture, Philemon 1:22 (NLT). “One more thing—please prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping that God will answer your prayers and let me return to you soon.” I realize that this is like making a place for the freezer. Paul was telling Philemon to prepare for his prayer to be answered.
As God has reminded me of these things recently, I have been pondering, “What practical step is God calling me to take to walk in faith?” I would like to ask you the same question. What step is God asking you to take in faith that He will do what He promised for you? It may be a big thing or a small thing, but I believe each day we need to ask God what our faith step is for this day and then walk it out in obedience.
