Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

Before the weekend I was completely unable to accept a part of the Lordship prayer where we acknowledge the Lord's control over "the manner and timing of my death". I needed or wanted an "out", to be able to control this for myself..... Read More...

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
Hebrews 10:35-36, ESV

I believe that there are visions and dreams in our hearts which the Lord has placed in us, and that they are closely linked to our passion, purpose, and calling in life.

As children, I think we often catch glimpses of our dreams, but as we grow up, we tend to dismiss them as mere fantasies and allow them to fade away. Furthermore, discouragement from those closest to us can sometimes cloud our vision, making it easy to lose sight of the passion that once inspired us so deeply.

In reality, we often find that the biggest obstacles to achieving our dreams come from within ourselves. When the aspirations we have held dear for so long do not materialise as we had hoped, it leads to disillusionment. This disappointment can cause us to hold back and gradually lose our sense of hope.

However, the word of God encourages us to hope; the following verses are a clear example:

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord…” (Jeremiah 17:7).

“It is good that one should hope and wait quietly…” (Lamentations 3:26a, NKJV).

Some time ago, I wrote a song titled “Never Give Up on Your Dreams.” It was intended to uplift a friend who struggled to believe her dreams could truly become a reality, despite having incredible potential and amazing talents. Here is a brief paragraph summarising the song:

“Your dreams will become real if you believe it. People will always tell you that it is not possible, that it cannot be done, but the Lord says that you can. You need to choose who you will believe. Never give up on your dreams.”

Sometimes, the greatest opposition and pressure to give up, as well as the most difficult challenges, may come when you are closest to fulfilling your God-given dreams.

If you persevere under pressure and do what is right, at the appointed time you will see the fulfilment of the vision the Lord has placed in your heart. Trust the Lord during those difficult times and do not give up!
