God’s Deepest Secrets
by Pam Smith
The Lord rewards our faith (which is a gift) by sharing His deepest secrets with us through the Holy Spirit, and thus we begin to know Him and what He’s like. ‘Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith’ (Hebrews 12:2). He perfects it.
There are situations when, without words, the Holy Spirit touches your spirit, and there’s a strong sense of knowing what He’s conveying to you. You know that you are surrounded, lifted up and held securely by the One who holds your very life in His hands.
You know that there’s a peace that anchors your soul deep in the Saviour’s love, the love that will not let you go. You know that you have found the source, where the Springs of Life come from. You know that you have found your resting place. You know that you are ‘in Him’ and ‘He is in you’. You know that you know that He is love and He is holy.
You know your Destiny is in Him.
We read, in Isaiah 43:2-3, ‘When you go through the deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up, the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, your Saviour, the Holy One of Israel’.
‘He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think’ (Ephesians 3:20).
All these things are written in the Bible, the Word of God, but are confirmed by the Holy Spirit to our spirits, and gradually we begin to understand the meaning of His deepest secrets as they become alive in us. The Word and the Spirit combine.
Prayer:
"You are Holy, Holy, Lord, there is none like you.
You are Holy, Holy, Glory to You alone.
I’ll sing Your praises forever,
Deeper in love with you.
Here in Your courts where I’m close to Your throne,
I know where I belong."
