The Power of Prayer
by Lynda Scott
My seed last month was about how the weather can have a serious impact on our lives. Our family had been facing a very difficult situation, with a drought gripping our beef cattle farm, and significant parts of Australia. We had little significant rain for many months and the situation was getting desperate. In my seed I shared this with you and my prayer for our farm “Please God let it rain.”
This had been my prayer for months. Our church and our pastors have been praying too, standing in faith with us for God to bring the rain we all need. My seed went out on the Saturday, and on the Sunday night, 36 hours after it was published, I sensed the Holy Spirit saying to me, ‘I have heard your prayers and the prayers of the many people here and around the world who are praying for you.’
Then weather reports started saying that a monsoon was coming across Australia, and tentatively they forecast the possibility of rain. Well, the rain started at our farm on the Thursday and we had beautiful soaking steady rain for 4 days! After a few days` break the rain returned again, this time heavy pouring rain for only a day, bringing as much rain in the day as we had had over 4 days. Already our farm is transformed. The dead brown grass has gone and green pastures are growing. The water springs are running again and the creek has started to flow. Follow up falls of rain are so important and I see there are a number of days of rain forecast later this week. It`s not to say the drought has gone yet, but life and hope has returned to our farm, thanks to the Lord.
So I wanted to thank every one of you who prayed for us. May the Lord return His blessing directly back to you. We serve a God who answers our prayers. We may not be able to stand face to face with each other to pray, but Jesus told us in our scripture for today `that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done by my Father in heaven`!! Wow. That`s amazing. We can join in prayer with each other from anywhere in the world and He hears our prayers.
Today I`d like you to think of one thing you want God to do. (I`m praying for follow up rain and for the drought to be completely broken). Lift your prayer up to Him now. Now corporately let`s pray for God to hear the prayers of each one of us. I`m praying that everyone of you will have a supernatural touch from the Father, like I have, right in the area that you need it. We gather together in Jesus` name, from right across the world, and know that He`s with us, and that He`s hearing and answering our prayers!
