Make Room For the Freezer!
by Roger Pook
Friends of ours, a couple who live in a small flat in the city centre, really needed a freezer, but it was beyond their means. As a couple they have faith in God; not only did they pray for a freezer, but they really felt that God wanted them to have it and had promised it to them.
The freezer did not come.
They shared their disappointment with another friend, who asked a very perceptive question – Where are you going to fit a freezer into this small flat?
This woke them up to the fact that although they had faith for a freezer, they were not really acting as if God was going to provide one! The next day they set about clearing a space big enough for the freezer – and within a week it had arrived.
God loves our faith and trust in Him, and He promises to answer our prayers when we ask in faith, but He expects us to act as if the prayer is already answered. That’s the kind of faith that really pleases Him.
If you have a need that has not yet been met, but you are sure that God has promised to meet it, start acting as if it has indeed been met – and see what happens.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the faith not only to believe Your promises but to act as if they are already fulfilled. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
