Yeast of the Kingdom

He also asked, “What else is the Kingdom of God like? It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”
Luke 13:20-21, NLT

So often in our lives we feel like we aren’t good enough. We don’t have enough faith, we aren’t obedient enough, we aren’t praying enough. But it really isn’t about how much we do or have. Our verse for today tells us that just a little yeast works through and permeates every part of the dough. And this is how the kingdom of God is.

It doesn’t matter how much or little of the kingdom is in your life. If you are part of the kingdom of God it should affect your whole life, and you will have an impact on everyone around you.

The Bible tells us Christ is in us, and we are in Him. We need to walk in that position, understanding that it isn’t about us, it’s about Him. As we come to realise who we are in Him, we will allow Him to work in us and through us to accomplish His good will, and we will see the kingdom of God grow.

We frequently teach about being ‘naturally supernatural’. This is the place we want to live … where we walk with Christ each day, and allow Him to direct us, and allow Him to touch others through us. We need to learn how to let the kingdom of God work in us like that yeast.

Prayer: Lord, please help me to learn how to be in You and have You working in and through me. Help me to understand that it is not about me and what I do, but it’s all about You and for You and Your glory. Teach me to walk in Your ways and let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my life today. Amen.
