Unveiled

If the sun is shining when I go out on my daily early morning walk, I can see it reflecting on the sea as I walk on the seafront. I so love looking at the sun reflecting on the water, and I often keep stopping to look. I always find myself thinking of the above verse about being changed from one degree of glory to another.
I was speaking with a friend a few days ago and commenting on the fact that we often cannot see how we are changing until we look back. This has been so true in my own life. I have had a long journey of healing, and in many ways, I am still on it. In a sense, all of us who are born again as believers are on this journey, because we will not be faultless until we stand before the Lord Jesus.
Sometimes we may feel discouraged and think that nothing is happening, but in Philippians 1:6 we read, ‘I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ’. What a promise we can hold on to in those times when we feel like nothing is happening!
And in Philippians 2:12-13 it says, ‘Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure’. We work out by repenting and confessing our sins to the Lord, and He works in us by changing our hearts and renewing our minds.
At church yesterday we sang a song by a Nigerian Gospel singer called Sinarch, and some of the words brought such joy to me. I pray they will bless you too.
‘Waymaker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness, my God, that is who You are ... Even when I don’t see it, you’re working, even when I don’t feel it, You’re working ... You never stop working. You never stop working’.
Prayer: Oh Father, how I thank You that You are always at work in me. I thank You that You have a plan for my life and that You will fulfil Your purpose for me as I keep in step with You, confessing and repenting of my sin. Thank You that You will complete what You have started and present me faultless in Your presence. I worship You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Gemma Gardner lives in Norfolk with her husband, Dean, who until recently worked at Ellel Grange. They are both part of the Associate Ministry team which Gemma joined after completing the Modular school. Gemma has experienced the Lord`s healing and restoration over many years and longs to see Him healing other broken people. Gemma loves listening to music, cooking, knitting and crochet as well as outdoor exercise. She enjoys playing guitar and singing worship songs.
