The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Truth is Truth

by Ron Scurfield

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.
1 Corinthians 2:9, NLT

God is eternal, the ever-loving Father of all. God has always been and always will be. People may deny His existence and argue about His being, but this changes nothing. ‘For since the creation of the world God`s invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse’ (Romans 12:1). The unbeliever would deny the source of all existence, because he has been blinded to the truth. ‘The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God’ (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Who can deny the existence of love? We can’t see it, but we all know it exists. And the source of love is God. ‘Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions’ (Ephesians 2:4-5).

Mankind was created by the hand of God but separated from Him by sin. History reveals a certain Jesus Christ who was crucified over two thousand years ago. Here was a man, sent by God, to communicate God’s love to us all. This He did in word and deed, even to His death. He was the human form of God, who took upon Himself the weaknesses of humanity, overcoming sin in purity and righteousness.

He took to the cross the degradation of mankind and died with it, so that man could be set free from the corruption that kept him apart from God. Sin was dealt a death blow, but all who accept Jesus Christ, and receive personally what He achieved on the cross, are freed from that which kept them bound. The cross cannot be bypassed. Jesus said, “no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Without the cross there can be no redemption.

Many would say they can’t believe or won’t believe. Many more are ignorant that the way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. Many don’t care. But God cares. He made a way where there was no way to come to Him and receive the gift of life; the abundant life promised by Jesus (John 10:10). However, God is still God. Jesus did what He did, and salvation comes only through the cross. That’s the truth, and truth cannot be changed because of unbelief. Truth is truth.

There’s a glorious resurrection awaiting those who believe. An eternity with the Father that no human mind can even begin to understand (1 Corinthians 2:9). The Lord God Almighty is there. Jesus Christ is there, and a place is being prepared for you. Would you reach out and receive it, the free gift of eternal life?

Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your truth, for the privilege of knowing Your mercy, Your grace and Your love and for the freedom which comes from accepting the reality of Your presence. Lord, I pray for all those known to me who find it difficult to receive You. Would You open their eyes that they too may see the truth; the truth that will set them free. Amen.
