The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

The Icing on the Cake

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Isaiah‬ ‭65:24,KJV

A number of years ago, my husband and I knew that we would need to move from our then present home into one which would be more convenient. This was for a number of valid reasons and so I drew up a list of the things which I would like: a smaller garden, a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, and, if possible, a conservatory! The latter would be the icing on the cake. So, we began our search and our prayers, but seemingly to no avail. We shared our thoughts and my list with no one but the Lord.

One day, to my surprise, my son-in-law, who at the time had no idea that we were looking for another house, but who knew that his father-in-law was struggling with our long path, suggested that maybe the simple solution would be for us to exchange houses with them, as we lived in the same village.

This was something which had never crossed our minds. He later said that he thought we would never take up the suggestion.

However, over the next few months of talking and praying, we all decided that this was a really good solution, only to find that, when the move was complete, so was my list, even to the icing on the cake: a lovely conservatory. I’m so glad that God has no favourites, or shall I rephrase that to say we’re all God’s favourites, and that He hears us, even before we call.

Prayer: Dear Father God, thank You so much that You know all about us and that we can trust You when things are difficult. Thank You that You know our every thought and that You are working everything together for our good. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
