The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

The God Who Gives

by Tracy Bankuti

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
Jeremiah 32:27, NIV

When Jesus was sent into the world by God the Father, He was positioned in the most helpless place on earth, a womb. That Jesus would agree to such vulnerability speaks of His unshakable trust in His Father. To trust God this way meant that Jesus had truth that allowed Him to rest in His Father’s will, whether He was being placed in a womb or laid in a tomb. What is it that hinders us absolutely trusting God as our good Father, healer, provider, redeemer and Saviour, in life and in death?

When you look up the word ‘trust’, you will find synonyms like ‘hope’, ‘reliance’, ‘confidence’ and ‘faith’. Could it be that our lack of trust has something to do with the things of this world that we hope in, rely on, have confidence in or put our faith in? It’s easier to believe in something physical than in something invisible. This is why we need faith. Thankfully, faith is a gift from God (1 Corinthians 12:9). Hebrews 11:1 tells us that ‘Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.’

What do you need today, and can you trust God for it? Are you tired? God gives rest to the weary (Matthew 11:28). Are you grieving loss? God gives comfort to those who are mourning (Isaiah 61:3). Do you have a big decision to make? God gives wisdom (Proverbs 2:6). Are you afraid? God gives power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:17).

Are you shaken? God gives peace (John 14:27). Is your heart broken? God gives joy (Romans 15:13). Do you need financial provision? God gives the ability to produce wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). Are you under the law? God gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).

Do you feel cursed? God gives blessing for obedience (Genesis 32:29). Are you worried about your health? God gives life and breath (Acts 17:25). Do you feel confused? God gives knowledge and understanding (Daniel 1:17). Do you have insomnia? God gives songs in the night (Job 35:10).

Have you been rejected? God gives promises that never fail (Joshua 23:14). Have you been criticised? God gives generously without finding fault (James 1:5). Are you discouraged? God gives endurance and encouragement (Romans 5:15). Are you feeling called to ministry? God gives authority (Matthew 10:1).

Do you feel as though you have been given a stone? God gives good things (Matthew 7:11). Are you afraid of going to hell? God gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life, and in doing so He gave the ultimate gift; Himself! (John 3:16).

Prayer: Father God, I want to thank You for sending Your only Son Jesus so that I can have eternal life. You are the God of all resources and nothing is impossible for You, and yet, I confess, that I do not always trust You, Lord. Today, I choose to see You as the God who gives, and therefore, I will put my trust in You to meet the needs that I have today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
