The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Patchwork Miracles

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14, NIV

One of my hobbies is making patchwork quilts. I was always drawn to patchwork because of the beauty and splendid colours of the quilts I had seen. So when I married my husband Leigh I started taking patchwork classes. This week I have been finishing off the biggest quilt I have ever made – it is 8 foot square. As I looked across it and saw all the beautiful fabrics that I had hand selected, positioned in just the spot I wanted them, I felt a huge thrill as I saw the whole of what I had created. Then I looked at some of my other quilts, every one of them completely different, yet in my mind each one was magnificent. They are quilts, wall hangings and bags, completely unique and completely beautiful. I delight in each quilt every day as I go about the house, because I made them.

As I looked at these quilts I heard the Lord speaking to me. Each of us is like a patchwork quilt, crafted by a loving Father God. Our verse today from Psalm 139 tells us that our Father knitted you together in your mother’s womb! As a creator, no detail was missed. He made you with the colour and beauty that would please Him, and make you complete. Such was the love and care of our Creator He made you fearfully and wonderfully! There is no one else in the whole world quite like you – you are unique. Like each fabric in the quilt is placed in its own unique position, so is everything about who God made you to be.

I ask you to spend a few minutes today considering how much the Father really does love you. To know this is one of the most life-transforming truths we can ever embrace. It has been the foundation of my life. So if the time should come that you face difficulties, suffering or sickness, come back to this truth. The Father loves you no matter what you are going through and He wants to make you whole. You are His miracle and He delights in you every day because He made you!

Prayer: Father God, thank You that You made me with such love and creativity. Help me to delight in You, even as You delight in me as one of Your beautiful creations. I express my love to You today with this prayer of thanksgiving. Amen.
