Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Seeds of the Kingdom

No ordinary day

by Patricia Lake

“Now he (Jesus) had to go through Samaria”
John 4:4, NIV

It was just another day for the woman whom we have come to refer to as the Samaritan woman. We don’t know her name, scripture doesn’t reveal it. But Jesus not only knew who she was, he also knew all about her and treated her with great compassion in the pain of her shame.

Little did she know what was in store for her that day. She went about her normal daily routines with no obvious expectations other than the norm. Much has been made of the reasons why she chose the heat of the day to get water from the well. But in the plans and purposes of God this was the day when she would meet with the Messiah.

That day the Saviour of the world knew that He had to pass through Samaria. The destiny of one woman, and many others, was at stake. One way or another, she would never be the same again.

She came for natural water, but met the One who could give her living water. She raised the issue of worship and He expounded the true meaning of worship and who God is. By the end of the conversation He had revealed that He was the Messiah. What a day! What a moment! The Immortal had met with the mortal, the Omniscient and Infinite with the finite, the Messiah with the sinner. Her response to Jesus that day set her feet on the road to eternal life, and she immediately used her testimony to point others in his direction.

Even in these uncertain times in which we live, God reserves the right to interrupt or redirect the moments of our days. Whatever we may think, whatever our agendas and plans, God always has a greater plan for His ways are not ours. The eternal purpose of God is always going on. He doesn’t reveal everything straight away to us, he takes us step by step.

Just as Jesus had to go through Samaria that day He is passing through your neighbourhood today with the intention of meeting up with you.
Whatever appointments you may have, the Lord wants to journey with you and show you a better way; His way, and as He is THE way you will find there are revelations in store which you hadn’t imagined for “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for passing my way. Help me to continually recognise those moments in my day when you are speaking with your still small voice to bring change or revelation in my journey with you for your glory. In Jesus Name. Amen.
