The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

God’s Miraculous Resources

by Patricia Lake

And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”
1 Kings 19:7, NKJV

God is such a loving God, and aware of our humanity, at all times, whatever our situation.

Elijah had just defended the honour of Almighty God before the nation of Israel. He had been involved in one of the greatest public challenges of his life with the prophets of Baal, and bringing the nation to the realisation and public confession that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel was the only one true God.

But now he was on the run from Jezebel, who was threatening his life. She turned his exhilaration into depression, so now he lay down to sleep, exhausted from all that had gone before. But the Lord was with him, despite the enemy’s threats, and miraculously and compassionately provided for his physical and emotional needs, strengthening him for the future.

Life is full of mountain top and valley experiences, some as a consequence of our involvement in the spiritual battles between good and evil, some because of our own actions or those of others, and still other times, when the unexpected happens. But just as God was aware of Elijah’s predicament, He is also aware of yours.

However difficult and confusing your season may be at present, God will intervene. He will provide resources where there aren’t any, often through the most unexpected sources. If you call out to Him, He is an expert in making sure His word reaches you, and He will do whatever it takes to meet you at your point of need, often through others, strategically placed, at just the right time.

Just as, in time, God dealt with Jezebel and destroyed the threats of the enemy, so that Elijah was vindicated, God always vindicates His servants, wherever they are.

So, let the soothing gentle voice of the Holy Spirit be your guide, as He whispers those unmistakable words, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

God’s life-giving word and intervention in Elijah’s circumstances injected him with life and hope, and gave him strength for the journey ahead. It will do the same for you. Remember the Lord has plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, that You are almighty, and Your word is life-giving, whatever our circumstances, and we thank You for Your endless compassion and loving care, as we keep our eyes fixed on You for whatever lies ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
