The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

God Remembers His Promise

So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon…
Genesis 41: 14, NIV

For 12 years Joseph was in prison, from the age of 18 to the age of 30. Just when everyone else of his age would probably have been marrying and having children, Joseph was locked away without any knowledge of whether he would ever be released from jail. And all this was for something he hadn’t done - he was completely innocent.
But one day Pharaoh had a dream and finally the cup-bearer remembered meeting Joseph in prison – the man who had the gift of interpreting dreams. Quickly Joseph was sent for, the dungeon doors opened at last and Joseph was free! Not just free, but as a direct result of interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams he was elevated to being Number Two in the whole land of Egypt!
Power comes from God; God never took either His favour or the power to interpret dreams away from Joseph, even in prison. God had promised Joseph through his dreams what He would do in his life; God hadn’t changed his mind. God now used dreams to spring him from jail in the most dramatic of rescue acts!
Romans 11:29 says “For God’s gift and His Call are irrevocable.” That means that they are irrevocable. God never changes His mind about you and your call, even when it seems as though everything is against you.
As you serve faithfully and wait on God for your destiny to be fulfilled, don’t be surprised if God moves suddenly in your life as well. Whatever God has truly said will be fulfilled. Has God made promises to you? Hold on to those promises today through thick and thin. God hasn’t changed his mind. ‘Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up’ (James 4:10).

Action line: What has God promised you? Can you hang on to the promise even when it looks hopeless?

Prayer: Thank you Lord that You are utterly trustworthy and I can always depend on you. Help me to hold on to all Your promises to me. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
