Faultless
by Pam Smith
It’s hard to get your mind round the truth of Jude verse 24 when you see yourself as guilty and needing a Saviour. But this is the Word of God. This is the promise to those who’ve made Christ their Saviour and Lord. Those who love Him will be presented faultless, because He’s taken their sin out of the way, nailing it to His cross (Colossians 2:14). He’s borne the guilt and shame of us all, and with overwhelming joy will present us faultless and blameless in that great Day that’s coming.
What a message to bring to the unsaved, the hopeless, the dying. There’s only One who’s blameless and perfect - only One who’s holy, righteous and worthy. He’s exchanged His goodness for our sin and given us His glory. This isn’t because we deserved it, but it’s so we can give glory back to Him, and so we can see His glory in each other.
What amazing love, what depths of mercy, what wonderful joy, what glory and majesty belong to our God! No wonder we see the tears running down the faces of the worshippers of the Church in China, or the courage of the suffering church in certain parts of the world, or the hope on the faces of those who endure worse things than death for the sake of the Lord. Jesus is going to present them faultless before the presence of His glory.
Before the Throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea;
A great High Priest, whose name is love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
Because the sinless Saviour died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me. Charitie Lees Bancroft.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I kneel before You, grateful for the sacrifice You gave for me, and humbled by Your great love and mercy. Help me to show those around me the love that I’ve found in you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
