The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Fairy Tale Versus True Story

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1, NLT

Once upon a time, God created the heavens and earth. He created a man in His image, and then a woman to keep the man company. They were provided for, and didn’t need anything. A snake came into the picture. Eve listened to the snake and ate the fruit from the tree which God had told them not to. What happened next? Did they live happy ever after?

God had to throw them out of the garden of Eden, and off they went to live in the world.

As the earth’s population grew, so did sin. Throughout the Old Testament we can see how God’s chosen children turned away from Him and rebelled against God, doing their own thing, worshipping idols, sexual immorality, drunkenness, and much more.

As we read the Bible, we see some faithful men do stand firm and obey God, in the hope of leading people back to God. Moses, David, and Noah are just a few who spring to mind. I encourage you to find more.

Anyway, back to the story. As things got worse, God was preparing His Son, Jesus, to be born as a man in the flesh, just like you and me. Jesus was born to Mary. He was the King of kings, the Saviour of the world! A king called Herod was so angry that he tried to kill Jesus as a baby, but it wasn’t the time yet for that to happen.

Jesus grew up and became a carpenter, but at the same time He became one with God in His relationship. He was learning and growing in preparation for the ministry which God had sent Him to do. When the time came, Jesus spent time with sinners, healed the sick, delivered people from demons, taught people about the love of the Father and much more. Then came the day when Jesus was crucified. Oh no! Now what? Is this the end?

No, this wasn’t the end. In fact, this was the beginning for so many of us. He died, went to hell, and took the keys from Satan! He rose again three days later. He died so that me and you can be saved, forgiven, healed, and set free, and so that we can come to the Father and have relationship with Him. We will spend eternity with God our Father, and with Jesus our Lord and Saviour. Wow! It’s a true story which is still ongoing. There is so much more I could share, but I challenge you to read the Bible and find out about the people God used. Read about Jesus and what He did while on earth. Be part of this true story today, as one of God’s children.

I’m sure many of us grew up watching or reading fairy tales. They start with a sad situation and normally end in a lovely way. However, they are not real. Jesus is real. He did die for us. We can be set free. We will live for eternity with Him. The war is won at the end. Be part of this true story today. Jesus and Father God are waiting for you with arms open wide.
