The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Dreams and Visions

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
Acts 2:17, NKJV

Has the Lord given you a vision in your life? Be encouraged, even if it hasn’t been fulfilled yet. He may be preparing you for a time that’s coming. Don’t give up on the vision, but keep it in your heart and stay close enough to the Lord, to understand His signals. The old men that dream dreams may be praying for you to be strengthened as you walk into that vision. The journey can be part of the vision.

We may not have been called to a great vision, but everyone who has given his or her life to the Lord, has been called for a purpose and a destiny. Being faithful in the small things is just as significant. For example, the person who keeps the machinery oiled and in working order is as much needed as the operator of that machine. Our small part can be most important to the Lord in His plan and He so delights in, perhaps an unseen, labour of love.

Whatever vision we have for our life, we need to maintain the Lord as our ultimate vision. The hymn, ‘Be Thou My Vision’, is really ancient, translated into English in 1905, yet young people can still relate passionately to the words of centuries ago. It’s really a prayer written to God. To have God as one’s vision in life is to centre on seeking Him and doing His will. The author goes on to pray for the many ways he needs help for God to be his vision.

In many parts of the world, in areas where there’s no preaching of the Gospel available and no Bible, God is taking His message to people through dreams and visions. It’s entirely consistent with Scripture for God to reveal His truth to people in this way, and when it does happen the vision is always completely in agreement with what God has said in the Bible. The Bible is the ultimate authority for us as Christian believers. If God has given us a vision, let’s ask Him how He wants us to respond.

Prayer: Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart.
Nought be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Riches I need not, nor mans’ empty praise.
Thou my inheritance, now and always.
Thou and Thou only, first and my last
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art. (Traditional )
