The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Divine Appointment

And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour … And the Lord looked upon him and said “Go in this thy might, and thou shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites; have not I sent thee?”
Judges 6:12 & 14, NKJV

In the providence of God, no matter what generation we’re born in, or how many millions of people there are on the planet, God has arranged a divine appointment for each one of us in a way that is perfect for each individual.

Gideon was busy threshing wheat, while hiding from the Midianites, an invading enemy which impoverished the nation of Israel at that time. Suddenly, on what seemed to be a very ordinary lacklustre day, devoid of hope, he had an encounter with an angel who addressed him as a mighty man of valour.

While what Gideon was doing was functional and needful, that wasn’t his destiny, and he felt anything but courageous. On that particular day, however, God met with him in a meeting which turned out to be pivotal to both Gideon and the nation of Israel. The angel revealed Gideon’s God-given identity and unveiled his true purpose in life. When Gideon acted on it, the whole nation was lifted out of defeat and poverty, as God worked on their behalf and vanquished their enemies. What a difference a day makes!

While each one of us has to pass through the threshing floor of life’s circumstances, where God separates the wheat from the chaff of our daily lives, we are each born with a God-given destiny which finds its fulfilment in Christ. He knows exactly where we’re at. At the appropriate time God knows precisely how to use His word to reach us.
Our response in that moment will be crucial. It can have eternal consequences, not only for us personally, but for our nation. Gideon eventually made the right decision, unwittingly, for the nation of Israel as well as for himself.

Maybe your circumstances look bleak. But be encouraged. God has not forgotten you. He has your well-being in mind. Just as He made a way for Gideon and the children of Israel, He will make a way for you. As a son or daughter of the living God, you are an heir of God and joint heir with Christ (Romans 8:17). If you know who you are in Christ, that changes everything!

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for the price You paid, manifesting Yourself in human form and making that divine exchange. Thank You for revealing our true identity and rescuing us from the pit, that we might know the victory that there is in Christ. Thank You for making us sons and daughters of the living God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
