The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

Chosen of God and Precious

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
1 Peter 2:9, KJV

However you may feel about yourself, always remember that, in Christ, you are chosen of God and precious. God has chosen you that you might, ‘show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light’.

In the temptations of Jesus the enemy didn’t hesitate to attack, in an attempt to undermine Jesus’ identity, and he uses the same old tactics on God’s children. Jesus knew who He was, where He came from and where He was going to, and thus the enemy’s tactics had no influence on Him.

So also, God’s children do not have to listen to any of the enemy’s lies. Whatever you may feel like has no bearing on who you are in Christ. Your feelings do not change your position in Christ. You are the King’s kid, and no-one can change that, and certainly not the enemy.

At the lowest point in his life, the prodigal son didn’t feel worthy to be his father’s son and wanted to return as a servant. But he was his father’s son and nothing he did could change his identity, and so it is with us.

Knowing who you are in Christ will enable you to enter into all that God has for you. There are many bible characters who likewise had to learn this important fact so they could enter into their destinies. Moses, for instance, chose to reject his old identity as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, and all the trappings of wealth, in exchange for his identity in God, and, in so doing, delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt (Hebrews 11:24-26).

Gideon learned from the angel that he was a mighty man of valour (Judges 6:12), and thus was able to overcome the negative thoughts that he couldn’t amount to anything because he was from a poor family and the least in his father’s house.

As long as Christ is your foundation, with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can move forward in the promises of God. Don’t let the enemy rob you of your potential or your future. Whatever mistakes you may have made in the past, if you give it to God, He can redeem it. Whatever you may be facing at the present time, you are the Lord’s, and nothing can detract from that.

You might not be called to become the second leader in the land like Joseph, but God has plans for good and not for evil for you. He has promised never to leave nor forsake you and, with your hand in His, He will show you the way forward.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, that You are mine and I am Yours, and that You will perfect that which concerns me, no matter what comes my way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
