The whole course is exceptional very relevant to me. I have gone away with a lot to think about. I have learnt that I don't have just to cope and be so independent. God is good & loves me, even me!.... Read More...

A Fresh Revelation

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6, NLT

As Christmas is fast approaching, I have got caught up with whom I need to buy gifts for, thinking about my budget, how to arrange time to give the gifts and whom I want to see. Oh, and, for me, the dreaded wrapping of presents! As well as planning the above I still have my daily commitments to attend too, and life in general. The past six weeks have been pretty full on for me, and some difficult issues have arisen. At times, I have been exhausted mentally and physically.

So, when I came across the above scripture, I quickly scanned it and thought, “Oh yes! That’s a Christmas scripture,” Then the Holy Spirit really stopped me in my tracks, and I just reread the scripture. As I did, certain words hit me. My Heavenly Father said, “I am your wonderful counsellor.” Wow! Yes, He is. Then, “I am mighty God.” All I could say was, “Yes Lord, You are!”  “I am your everlasting Father.” My response again was, “Yes you are.” “I am the Prince of peace.” “Oh, you sure are!”

He is all of the above, not just at Christmas time, but all year round, 365 days. I have to be honest. That really hit me. So, as Christmas approaches, and we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we can also celebrate and hold on to all those things that He is, not just Christmas Day, but every day.

We have been given the greatest gift of all time, someone who will love us, never leave us, who will walk with us, be the lifter of our heads, give us peace and bring comfort. As we head towards Christmas, you might like to take some time to reflect and just sit with the Father, and with His son. And perhaps, ask Him for a fresh revelation.
