Exploring how to Deal with Difficult Emotions

From the ups to the downs, emotions are an essential part of being human. Without them our relationships are empty and mechanical and our lives grey and colourless.

Yet many of us struggle with our emotions, often trying to deny and even crush them because they seem to be the cause of our problems. The reality is that some emotions seem very hard to handle; they can be overwhelming, seem unacceptable or even feel destructive.

This course seeks to bring a full understanding of what your emotions are, why they exist and how you can handle them in a godly way. It will unpick the intricacies of difficult emotions such as grief, anger and jealousy, and how God has purposed for you to find release and His comfort, so you can move safely through the turmoil and find a new place of rest.

During the course there are six teaching sessions which cover the following topics:

• Emotions – who needs them?
• What are emotions?
• How do we express them?
• Biblical examples of godly emotional expression
• Uncomfortable emotions and how they can turn difficult
• Avoiding negative feelings
• Burying emotional pain
• Anger, the reality and its challenges
• Righteous and unrighteous anger
• Expressing anger the right way
• Grief, the pain and loss
• The process of grief and experiencing God’s comfort
• Dealing with wrong handling of emotions
• Dealing with disappointment and jealousy
• Jealousy versus envy

Event Details:

This is an online course on Zoom. We will send you the link once you have done the registration and paid the amount towards the course. Please register quickly so that we could send the notes & journal booklet before the course starts. However you would have to pay the courier charges.

The dates are 22nd, 23rd & 24th June 2022. The timing for the course will be from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Children:

Due to the sensitive nature of our courses we do not allow any children under 18 years into the teaching venues or on any courses. Hence we would request that children not to be present while the teaching is in progress.
