In 1953 James Watson and Francis Crick discovered the genetic structure deep inside the nucleus of living cells: the DNA. More recently, scientists have found an exquisite language composed of some three billion genetic letters stored in the DNA, detailed instructions for the functioning of the cell, in the form of a digital code.
The coding regions of DNA have exactly the same relevant properties as a computer code or language. So, who placed this enormous number of letters in their proper sequence as a genetic instruction manual within the DNA? It can only be the work of an infinitely more intelligent mind than that of human beings.
These discoveries have had profound implications regarding the theory of Darwinian evolution, the belief that all living beings have evolved through undirected random mutation and natural selection. No evolutionary process based on chance, no matter how much time is available, could possibly produce the complex information code carried in the DNA of every living cell.
Recently, one of the world's most famous atheists, Professor Antony Flew, admitted that he couldn't explain how DNA was created and developed through evolution. He now accepts the need for an intelligent source to have been involved in the making of the DNA code. Increasingly, science is supporting the fundamental truths of the Bible rather than opposing them.
