True Wisdom

by David Cross

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
James 3:13, NASB

In God`s Kingdom, it`s not so much what you know but who you know. Only as we dwell in Jesus, and on His words, can the truth about human existence become clear. Only then can we find true meaning and restoration in our lives: wisdom sought but never found by the philosophers of history.

In the world, intelligence is admired and rewarded. Indeed, God has given humankind an extraordinary ability to fathom the mysteries of the natural world. But our brain-power alone will never discover the reason for human life and the complex interaction of the natural and spiritual realms.

However, it is all fully understood by Jesus. This means that, when we are intimately connected to Him, we will have revelatory glimpses of wisdom far beyond the ability of our own minds. We will experience a gentleness of wisdom and peace because we can know a confidence in His limitless understanding and His ability to protect and provide for us.
Praise God for His gift of human intellect which has brought such improvements to the well-being of our lives, but praise God even more for divine wisdom which is revealed to followers of Jesus, through the rebirth of our spirit, that we may know the truth of God’s amazing grace, love and restoration.

Prayer: Father, remind me, whenever necessary, that my own wisdom will never be sufficient to meet my needs. In Christ alone is true wisdom found and He is the ultimate answer to every question. Amen.
