Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

Personal Revival

by Pam Smith

For thus says the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity, whose Name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite ones”.
Isaiah 57:15, NKJV

Do you remember as a child, being told off or reprimanded by your parents, but afterwards, knowing you’d been forgiven? Your spirit was humbled and you’d learned your lesson. There was peace and a good relationship was restored. You felt a joy in pleasing them.

God doesn’t go on being angry with us. When we’re truly repentant we can return to that wonderful relationship with Him where He brings us into His presence and there’s a reviving of heart and spirit. ‘For the Holy Spirit speaks to us, deep in our hearts, and tells us that we really are God’s children’ (Romans 8:16).

Do I desire that deep relationship with God more than anything else? Do I come into the secret place to be in His presence and worship Him? Do I want Him more than anything else in my life? These are hard questions to answer. But I know that if I want personal revival of heart and spirit, this is where it is. God not only loves us, He likes us and He loves to be in close relationship all the time. Let the Holy Spirit have His way, and bring us into this place.

I quote from The Interceders Website. "The Lord reveals areas in our lives that need changing, sins that need to be confessed and renounced, wrong priorities that need to be abandoned, and new ones established, old aims and ambitions that need to be rejected, and replaced with new ones, relationships that may need to be changed, and new timetables put in place. As a consequence, a new determination to serve God wholeheartedly emerges, a desire to seek the face of the Lord becomes paramount, the Holy Spirit is honoured in a new way, as He becomes a fresh wind, blowing across the soul, arousing the child of God from spiritual slumber… A new song is put into the heart and the mouth which causes others to fear and trust the Lord. A new hunger and thirst for the things of God is awakened, the believer cannot get enough of the Lord and His truth".

‘Behold I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness’ (Psalm 119:40).

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You’ve made it possible to have this close relationship with You. May I be aware of anything that would prevent that personal revival that You long for and wait to give. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
