He is Able

Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you without blemish before the presence of his glory with rejoicing, to the only wise God, our Saviour through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and for ever. Amen.
Jude 24, RSV

We can’t do it, but ‘He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or imagine according to the power that works within us’ (Ephesians 3:20).

I may feel fearful of falling away or failing to reach the target, letting my family down, or faltering on the Christian walk, not able to overcome temptation, not able to carry on. But the Lord says, ‘I am able. I will walk with you, be your strength when you’re weak, give you My wisdom to lead you, fill you with My love when you’re empty, give you My courage when you’re attacked by evil. My victory will be yours for My promises never fail, trust Me and see’.

If you identify with where you can find ‘He is able’ in the following verses you will be encouraged!

‘And because he himself has suffered and been tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted’ (Hebrews 2:18).

‘Therefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come to God through him for he ever lives to make intercession for them’ (Hebrews 7:25).

‘For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that ‘He is able’ to keep that which I’ve committed to him against that day’ (2 Timothy 1:12).

‘He stoops to look and lifts the poor from the dirt and the needy from the rubbish dump and sets them among princes’ (Psalm 113:6-7).

‘The Lord God is my strength and he will give me the speed of a deer and bring me safely over the mountains’ (Habakuk 3:19).

From the song Jesus, Lamb of God’.
"You are my strength when I am weak,
You are the treasure that I seek,
You are my all in all.
When I fall down you lift me up,
When I am dry you fill my cup
You are my all in all. " Dennis Jernigan.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You that everything that I need is in You and You have given me great and wonderful promises to hold on to. Help me hang on to every one of them and make them my own. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
