God is in the Journey

My husband and I recently walked the last 120 km of the Camino de Santiago from Portugal into Spain. It was a wonderful experience where God spoke many things to us.
Whilst we were walking it was amazing how you have your thoughts specifically on your destination, for us at this time it was the Cathedral in Santiago. There were markers along the route to Santiago reminding you regularly how far you have left of the journey and which direction to take. But whilst walking the Lord reminded us, it wasn't just about the destination, though that was important to us, but that He was also in the journey too.
We decided to slow down and to take in our surroundings and enjoy the journey. It was incredible how God began to speak through the beauty of the sunrise, the still waters, the wild flowers growing on the sides of the roads and paths, the beautiful aroma of the eucalyptus trees, the forest paths, the fields and animals, and even the rain and puddles to splash in.
I want to encourage you today to take time in your journey to engage with the beauty of your surroundings and let God speak whilst journeying to your destination.
