George and Merlyn Parlekar

Directors of Ellel India

George has a background of Electronics and IT. He has been involved in pastoral work for about 25 years. Merlyn has graduated in Commerce and has IT and HR skills. 

Together, they have been instrumental in organizing city wide youth camps which were famously called 'Youth Fire' in 1999, 2000, 2001. They are also anointed worship leaders. They authored the Hindi worship chords book 'Sthuthi Aradhana'. They also released a Hindi worship album 'Swarg mere dil mein hai'.

In 2006, they were introduced to Ellel. During the school they read Peter Horrobin’s book ‘Healing through Deliverance’ - Vol 2 and got further interested in this ministry. They came to Ellel to get some grass for their sheep… only to discover that God began a deep work in their personal lives. 

They were encouraged by Ray and Christa Eicher (Former Directors) to attend the 1 year NETS School at Ellel Pierrepont in the UK in 2007-2008. Since then, they have been actively involved with the work of Ellel in India. 2, 5 and 9 day schools were prevalent then. They helped develop the work of Ellel in India… especially the introduction of the 60 days Flagship School and 40 days Modular Schools, alongside Cyril and Aggie Fonseca (Former Directors).

They believe that no one has to be consigned to live in a wounded, crippled state forever.
