Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

What came at Christmas?

The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father's only Son.
John 1:14, GNB

In a world that has lost the plumb-line of truth and the mercy of grace, Jesus steps in and offers both these needs in the coming of Himself . This is the true Christmas.

Truth means:

No lies
No hiding
No cover-up
No unreality
No fantasy
No pretence
No darkness
No masks
No injustice
No crookedness
No deviation
No compromise

Grace means:

Undeserved kindness
Undeserved mercy
Undeserved liberty
Undeserved forgiveness
Undeserved generosity
Undeserved protection
Undeserved provision
Undeserved comfort
Undeserved restoration
An undeserved pardon and
God’s unending love

In God’s Kingdom there can be no real grace without the revealing of truth. Jesus displayed all these characteristics to the full. He came to bring these on to earth and into our lives, but this happens, in us, only as we worship Him

This is the meaning of Christmas: the arrival of absolute truth and unlimited grace. It is what happened two thousand years ago and can still happen today if we are willing.

Prayer: Father God, thank You so much for the arrival of grace and truth in the birth of Jesus on earth. We believe that His precious character can grow in us as we worship Him this Christmas. Amen.
