Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Your eyes will see the King in his beauty, and the highlands of heaven far away.
The glorious Lord will be to us a wide river of protection and no enemy can cross.
Isaiah 33:17, TLB

Have you ever stopped, for a moment, looked up into the sky above, ‘turned your eyes upon Jesus’and wondered what it was you were really rushing around so fast for?

Are you ever in a stressful situation, with a day piled high with problems? Does there ever seem to be enough time? Are you laden with other people’s burdens? Are you labouring intensely in God’s work without Him? Are you tired and worn out? Do you ever think that you’re more of a ‘human doing’ than a ‘human being’? Then stop for a moment, and look up, as I did, and know that the Lord is able to safely keep that which we’ve committed to Him. As the words of the hymn say, ‘Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace’.

Could the Lord be saying these words to you: ‘You’re part of My Creation, made to worship Me. I’m calling you now, just for this moment, to lift up your eyes and look beyond all that’s going on around you. Look into My heavenly world where all is peace, harmony and order, where there’s constant joy, peace and thanksgiving around my throne.

This is the place where My will is being fulfilled and My plans are working together for good for those who love Me. This is the place of beauty and splendour that transcends this world. Come for a while and look into these things, and as you gaze into My Eternal Kingdom, receive the truth of My glorious love into your heart. It will enable you to return to what you were doing, with my added peace and security, and enable you to bless those who’re searching for Me this day.'

Prayer: Lord I lift my eyes to you. May Your Kingdom come. May Your will be done on earth, in my life today, as it is in heaven. In jesus's name, Amen.
