Trust the Lord to Turn Around That Situation

by Bernard Kariuki

He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.
Psalm 114:8, NLT

He turned water into wine, providing for the wedding guests. He turned the rock into a pool of water, quenching the thirst of the Israelites. He turned the Red Sea into a dry path and made escape path for His children from Pharaoh’s army. He took a man’s rib and used it to create a woman, so the man would not be alone. He turned the sinner Mary Magdalene into a saint.

Our Lord changes things to work them together for good to those who love Him, to those who are the called according to His purpose. He won’t do this for us if we have a wrong motive in our heart for selfish gain. ‘And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong--you want only what will give you pleasure’ (James 4:3). Jesus didn’t turn the stones into bread, though He had the power to do so, because Satan was tempting Him to do it, to satisfy his own evil purposes.

Our Lord will change things for us as we continue keeping His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight. ‘And we will receive from Him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him’ (1 John 3:22). We are to obey and please Him, and He’ll turn things around.

Trust in Him to turn around that situation for your good. The One who turned a staff into a snake, the One who turned David’s mourning into dancing, will do it for you, if you believe.

What is it that you want turned around for you? Is there anything too hard for the Lord to do? (Genesis 18:14). He can turn your life around, if you allow Him to, for He stands at the door and knocks. Please respond.

All things are possible to him who believes. Believe for God to turn a sinner into a saint in your family, friends, workplace, college, or school, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Dear God, to Your children who mourn, may you give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, and festive praise instead of despair. May You change their rock into water, their sea into a path and their water into wine, for the glory of Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
