Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

Seeds of the Kingdom

To God Be the Glory

by Patricia Lake

(Jesus) said “I am the light of the world: he who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”.
John 8:12, NIV

Life can be puzzling at the best of times. We all have to deal with difficulties and face life’s problems as we navigate our personal journeys.

In John 9:1-25, this was certainly true for the parents of the blind man who did not know the reason he was born blind. They just knew that, despite the challenges, he was their child, and a gift from God.

We don’t even know his name, just that he had lived his whole life in darkness, at least before his destined appointment with Jesus. Having had to overcome the judgments and sneers of others, it was only when Jesus revealed the real reason for his state, that everything came into focus. He was born blind ‘that the works of God should be revealed in him’, and whenever God is going to get the glory, the enemy is on the prowl.

The challenges weren’t over for this man, because, even after Jesus had made clay from his spittle combined with the dirt on the ground, and put it on his eyes, the man still had to navigate his way to the pool of Siloam to wash away the clay.  It had to be that particular body of water, in complete obedience to the word of Jesus, for the miracle to take place.

Now his parents were in the uncomfortable spotlight again. This time because he could see. But the means by which he received his sight was in contention. However, despite the enemy’s best shots, the man could now see, and behold the face of his Saviour. Jesus, the Light of the world, had expelled both physical and spiritual darkness from his life.

To get where God wants us to be may require many twists, turns and challenges, but as we behold the face of Jesus, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit through His Word, we will arrive safely, and all to the glory of God. God is guiding you today so that He can manifest His presence through you.  Don’t doubt it.
