Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

Seeds of the Kingdom

The Things we can’t see

by Pam Smith

Christ himself is the Creator who made everything in heaven and earth, things we can see and the things we can’t; the spirit world with its kings and kingdoms, its rulers and authorities: all were made by Christ for his own use and glory.
Colossians 1:16, LB

It’s easy to see the results and workings of the evil spiritual powers in this world. In fact people are genuinely quite interested in anything spiritual and will seek experiences such as fortune telling, séances, transcendental meditation, and astrology.
Anything that touches into the supernatural draws many, because people are more than just physical beings. God has put a spirit within them and they hunger for something more. They don’t know it, but it’s really God’s place in their lives they seek to fill. The enemy of our souls will display a whole host of attractive gods and experiences that offer satisfaction, but can never deal with the ‘sin question’, which is man’s greatest need.

Many people have searched all through the occult and various experiences looking for the answer to their spiritual hunger, but it’s not until they’ve found Christ that they have found their real ‘home’, and then they can see the difference between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. With sin dealt with, they can experience a purity of heart and a freedom of conscience, and meet with their Creator. They can find His great love in a relationship with Him, which is the one thing that God desires for every person He’s made.

What we can’t see is all the work that Jesus controls in the heavenlies. His is the power and the glory, from the creation - to the cross and the resurrection, overcoming all the principalities and evil powers, taking charge of all authorities, kings, rulers, all His angels and ministering spirits. We can’t see the lengths to which Jesus goes to search and find us, His lost sheep, and then to keep us safe in His fold. However, we can see some of the wonderful results and blessings coming through His people as He uses His power and glory to bless the world.

Jesus said to Thomas, ‘Because you have seen me you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed’ (John 20:29). He is the highest ruler, with authority over every other power (Colossians 2:10). Be encouraged. Jesus is working on our behalf and is taking care of the things that we can’t see at this time.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we will never know how much it cost You to redeem Your people and to give Your only Begotten Son to this world. Yours is the power and the glory, forever and we worship You, in Jesus’ name.
