The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases

The LORD`s unfailing love and mercy still continue.
Lamentations 3:22, GNB

A few weeks ago, I felt in my spirit that, before too long, I would be living alongside other people. As I live on my own, that seemed good news to me. However, I couldn’t work out how it could possibly happen, so I put it to the back of my mind and carried on.

When the latest coronavirus lockdown came, my granddaughter and her fiancé decided to bring their wedding forward so they could be married before the lockdown started. It was an absolutely spring-like day (in November!) and the bride and groom looked beautiful and smart (in that order). They were going to spend time at the bride’s parent’s home until the next step of their journey.

To cut a long story short, it seemed right for me to offer them my home for a few weeks, as they settled into married life, and so we exchanged houses. With my daughter and son-in-law’s kind agreement, I moved into their home.

I am sure I got the better bargain, for I had the company which the Lord had intimated a few weeks previously. This was especially helpful, as I had just developed shingles. I was so well looked after by my daughter and her husband.

The thought came into my mind that it is so true that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. He knew before I did what I needed, as well as providing a temporary home for my granddaughter and her husband. So be encouraged, for the Lord has no favourites and His steadfast love is there for you just as much as it is for me.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your amazing love and for Your plans for our lives. We choose to trust You and to rest in Your working behind the scenes in order to bring Your will and purposes to pass for our good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
