Such Knowledge

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven you are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there…
Psalm 139: 6-8, NKJV

Some have said to me, “I wish I had your faith”. But it’s not my faith they need, but the knowledge of God. Knowing God is the greatest discovery we can make in life.

A Jewish Rabbi became aware of this knowledge when the Holy Spirit came upon him. He was suddenly overwhelmed by the revelation that Jesus Christ was his Messiah, and couldn’t even stand up. He knew that he would have to tell his family the truth that he’d found.

A thousand questions are asked, but there’s one answer to be found. Everyone wants to know if there is a God. Well Proverbs 1:7 says, ‘The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge’, and The Lord says, ‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart’ Jeremiah 29:13.

If someone really wants to know the truth we should challenge them to search with all their heart, for they will find the answer. I certainly did. God has made a promise; ‘I will be found by you, declares the Lord!’ (Jeremiah 29:14).

When we find God we discover the truth. He’s the One who found us, and He knows us intimately. We find He’s omnipresent and omniscient, with an unfathomed love and mercy.

It’s Jesus who reveals God the Father to us. Jesus said, ‘no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son and the one to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him’ Matthew 11:27. When we find God the Father, through Jesus the Son, we find life. This is the knowledge that’s almost too wonderful to believe.

Wonderful so wonderful is God’s unfailing love,
Your cross has spoken mercy over me.
No eye has seen no ear has heard, no heart can fully know,
How glorious, how beautiful you are.

From ‘Beautiful One’ by Jeremy Camp.

Prayer: Lord, we pray for everyone who searches for You, that Your Holy Spirit will reveal the precious truth to them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
