He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.
Deuteronomy 10: 21, NIV

As I write this devotional, it’s one of the most important days of the year for me. It’s a day of remembrance of the Lord Jesus’ most amazing victories in my life. Firstly it’s the 15th anniversary of the day I was healed by Jesus, following a life changing accident where I fell off a cliff. I had endured 2½ years of pain, fatigue, depression and disability. But on the 18th of September 1996, in front of a room full of doctors and pastors, Jesus healed me and set me free! It was a day that totally changed my life.

Following that amazing miracle I continued to walk with Jesus, which led me through some very difficult challenges. When my husband and I married, we lost our first 2 children with late miscarriages. It was devastating. We wondered if we were ever going to be able to have children. However Jesus gave me a promise and to cut a long story short, today is the 7th birthday of our daughter Kirilee! Both miracles happened on the 18th of September! I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to write my story, to let people all over the world know that miracles still happen today.

In the book of Exodus in the Old Testament God performs a great miracle in liberating the Hebrew people from the slavery of Egypt. Miracle after miracle is recorded of how the Lord set His people free and led them to the land He promised them. Time and time again God reminds Moses to tell the people to remember how He set them free, exhorting them to tell the stories to their children and grandchildren, remembering His miracles year after year.

Maybe you have heard of a miracle or been blessed, as I have, to see a miracle with your own eyes. I exhort you to remember your miracles today and give Jesus the glory, praise and thanks. Then share some stories this week, maybe with your children, grandchildren or with someone from the next generation. Jesus is so amazing. Today I will be telling my children again about our 2 miracles that happened on this day and we will be celebrating the wonderful goodness of the Lord. The next generation have not seen the miracles we have seen. We have a tremendous responsibility to pass it on to them so we can help them to walk with the Lord, demonstrating the faith that when we trust Jesus nothing is impossible!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, today I want to thank You from the depth of my heart for the amazing miracles You have done in my life, in the lives of those I know and people I have heard of. Help me to share some of these amazing stories with my children, grandchildren or someone in the next generation and inspire them to live for You. Amen.
