Life Changing Decisions

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Joshua 24:15, NKJ

Every day we make hundreds of choices. We choose what to wear - what to eat - how to spend our time. From time to time we make more significant decisions - what car to buy - where to live - what job to apply for - who to marry. Some of the decisions we make are life changing decisions.

Our decision to become a Christian is one of those life changing decisions. To live our lives as a Christian totally committed to Him, irrespective of the cost, is another of those life changing decisions. Joshua verbalised it this way: ‘as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord’. As we follow Jesus we will be challenged to make decisions that become life changing even though we don’t always recognise this at the time. On a course a young lady shared the following testimony: ‘I have made many wrong decisions in my life but signing up to do the Modular School was the best decision I have ever made. It has been life changing.’

Perhaps you have reached a major crossroad in your life. Perhaps you are facing a difficult decision which will affect your life in a major way. Ask yourself what would some of the great figures in the Bible do if faced with the same situation? What would Joshua have done? What would the Apostle Paul have done? Even more importantly what would Jesus do? As you put God first and honour Him, even in the most difficult of decisions, you will find His peace and enter into His destiny for your life.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me today to know what you would do in each situation that I face. Give me the courage to make the decision that you would make irrespective of the cost. In Jesus, Amen.
