You Have Never Failed Me

Yet I totally trust you to rescue me one more time, so that I can see once again how good you are while I’m still alive! Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!
Psalm 27:13-14, TPT

God’s promises in the Bible are for us today too. Do you believe that? Do you feel that God has failed you? Have your expectations not been met?

God is faithful, and He knows and wants the very best for us. Perhaps He has provided for us in the past, but we haven’t seen it recently? The truth is when we look back and remember all that God has done for us, the prayers He has answered, we are often astounded how it has all come to pass. Sometimes we need to wait for His promise to come to pass, and that hasn’t happened yet.

I love the song by Elevation Worship called ‘Do it again’.

Your promise still stands. Great is Your faithfulness, faithfulness. I`m still in Your hands. This is my confidence, You`ve never failed me yet.

I`ve seen You move, You move the mountains And I believe, I`ll see You do it again. You made a way, where there was no way And I believe, I`ll see You do it again.

When it says, You have never failed me yet, the singer is not meaning, well I am waiting to see if you fail me God, he is saying that the yet means God will never fail in the future either. Do we have confidence in God that He will not fail to fulfil what He has promised? There is only one promise in the Bible that has not been fulfilled, but the time is not right yet. It is the second coming of the Lord Jesus.

God is faithful, even when we are not faithful to Him. We live in an instant society and expect everything to be done straight away, but God knows the right timing.

Have we seen God move mountains? Well, maybe not literal mountains, but certainly insurmountable problems that we have no control over. God just moves them out of the way so that our journey with Him can continue. I have seen God move mountains in my life, and in my family’s lives. I have seen how God answers prayers and moves those mountains.

Are we praying for loved ones, family, adult children and it just seems hopeless? All I can say is don’t give up keep petitioning for them through Jesus. I have seen God move mountains in our own family through trusting and believing that He can do it and will do it.

God is bigger than the mountains, He made the mountains and can remove them. Our best is to trust Him at His word, that He is a faithful God.

What are the mountains that seem to be overwhelming in your life? Can you persevere and go around the mountain again, trusting God to do what He has promised to you? Remember though, that if what you feel God has said to you is not in line with Scripture, you may have to ask God if that was from Him or if it was wishful thinking on your part. God’s promises will be fulfilled by Him. We can trust Him with His Word. When He spoke, creation came into being. God’s nature does not and cannot change. What He has promised will come to pass.

God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. Do we trust Him, though? Can we stand on and declare His faithfulness in our lives? Or are we still trying to make it happen in our own strength then grumbling at God because it is not working the way we had planned it?

Maybe take some time now to give God those mountains and ask Him to help you keep persevering in prayer and trusting Him.

Prayer: Father God thank You that You are always faithful. Thank You that You are the mountain mover. I give You all those things in my life that seem to be insurmountable to me, to You today. I leave them in Your care trusting that You know what is the very best for me and that You will remove those mountains in Your perfect timing. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
