Yes Please

There is a type of heart disease not found in any medical books that is alive and well in the world today. It’s called ‘people pleasing’!
This disease of the heart can occur when years of rejection and abandonment, lack of nurture, and neglect wear down our spiritual heart. We are left vulnerable to the father of lies who comes close to whisper his falsehoods into our ear. Ultimately, we begin to believe what he says and therefore come into agreement with his lies.
Agreements with the enemy are spiritually binding and demonically empowered when left unchallenged.
Before my husband George had his bypass in 2021, he had many different symptoms that eventually began to point to heart trouble. He went to a heart specialist who tested the functions of his heart. But unfortunately, he failed the test, and it was discovered that he was in urgent need of a quadruple bypass. He was diagnosed with heart disease due to an unhealthy diet, and too much stress over many years.
The 'disease' of people pleasing requires spiritual surgery through the caring hands of our loving heavenly Father who, with our cooperation and permission, will carefully be able to remove the diseased part of our spiritual heart, transplanting His truth and bringing light, life and lasting healing.
We have our part to play in this process; perhaps we need to offer forgiveness to those who have rejected and abandoned us, as well as taking our right responsibility for the ways we have responded sinfully out of the pain and shame of the neglect. This is how we apply the precious blood of Jesus into our lives to stop the sowing and reaping that is activated by the wounding we have received.
As followers of Jesus, we have all been entrusted with the message of the Gospel knowing that it is the only genuine hope for a dying world. As a recovered ‘people pleaser’ I am delighted to share the freedom that has come into my life as I have allowed the Father to perform His surgery on my broken and crushed heart. To be entrusted by God with the good news of His precious Son Jesus is one of the greatest privileges of my life in Christ!
