Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life.
Revelation 22:14, NLT

Reading this passage struck me hard when I read it recently. In my spirit rose the question, “Have I allowed myself to be washed by the Lord?” I mean, am I totally sanctified by the Holy Spirit? The answer hit me the hardest. It was no! You see, in my life there are still areas from my past that I cling to with some hesitation of letting go, because of a warped idea they are a crucial part of my life.

Are you washed in the fullness of God’s sanctity?

Our part in this journey is to listen and obey. That’s it! When we entered our relationship with Jesus and allowed his Holy Spirit to come live inside us, we began the sanctification process.

When we were not yet redeemed. Our spirits were dead to Christ, which means we had no idea how to live or act. When we entered our relationship with Jesus, our spirits were saved from certain eternal separation from God, but our attitudes, our behaviors, and our choices must be washed. This is our soul, for this is what we are clothed in. These are our robes.

As you and I allow the Holy Spirit to change our garments into His righteous garments, then real change happens, and we are blessed.

Wash your robes today! When you enter eternity, you will receive the reward your deeds have earned. Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds’ (Revelation 22:12).

You can begin to enter into real life today as you let go of the garments of your past, where you used to find life. You have an opportunity to say “Yes” to whatever the Spirit is showing you. Allow those old rags to be changed!
