Victory in the face of defeat

by Patricia Lake

He has risen from the dead, and is going ahead of you
Matthew 28:7, NIV

Just when it seems like all is lost, hope is fading and defeat is looming, God steps in and delivers His masterpiece. Time and again throughout Scripture God steps in with His great plan of salvation.

The day Jesus died and the day He rose again were days like no other, for during this time He won the ultimate victory and conquered all the powers of hell forever. He defeated, disarmed and made a public spectacle of them. He triumphed over all the forces of evil by the cross. He rescued us.

It was during this most momentous and pivotal of weeks in history, when God turned, what to man looked like utter defeat, into the most glorious victory ever to be witnessed in time and eternity.

Maybe you are facing some great test or trial, the outlook looks bleak, you have been backed into a corner and don't know what to do or where to turn, you seem to be staring defeat in the face. Today, the Lord of Glory wants you to know that He is with you and is able to deliver you. He is mighty to save (Zephaniah 3:17). Call on Him and He will not only defeat your enemies, He will vindicate you. You are His precious child and He will always come to your aid. Jesus is the Victor!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Our eyes are on You and we put our trust in You for You are our deliverer. Thank You, Lord, for always hearing our prayer and coming to our rescue. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
