The Life Gate

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many that go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew l3:4, NKJV

Jesus said it is very difficult to go through the narrow gate, yet He said that the Kingdom of God is made up of ‘such as these’, meaning little children. It’s easier for people with a childlike trust to enter the narrow gate.

God is not willing that any should perish, but Christ died for the whole world, for the people of every religion, every tribe, every tongue, even those who have never heard His name (John 3:16). So when God comes to judge those that live and those who have died, He will be completely right and fair. Mercy and truth have met together. Justice and peace have kissed (Psalm 85:10). Who knows a man’s heart or whether God has visited him in his situation. Only by grace can we enter.

God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. For He made Him who knew no sin, to become sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him
(2 Corinthians 5:19-21). And we say with Paul, ‘we implore you, on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God’. Let’s do our best to make the Gospel plain, for people may have heard our words, but only God knows whether they will respond. We must still make the Gospel urgently clear.

To those who go through the narrow gate it’s the life gate that leads into another dimension, in the presence of God’s Spirit. We’re changed by the power and the glory of God’s Kingdom. That’s why we pray:

Our Father in heaven, holy is Your name,
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
For yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory,
Forever. Amen.

"To God be the glory, great things He has done,
So loved He the world, that he gave us His Son.
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened THE LIFE GATE that all may go in."
Fanny Crosby.
