I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.
Isaiah‬ ‭42:16,NIV

Good morning, as I write this I am staying in a lovely part of the countryside and enjoying beautiful scenery.

Usually when I am away on a short break for a few days I receive a number of inspirational thoughts to share with others. In fact, if you are struggling to hear the Lord speaking to you, may I humbly suggest that you take some time out to listen to the Lord in the lovely world which He has given to us.

However, having said that, I find myself today without any inspiration whatsoever. This may be due to the fact that over the last few days I have been feeling unwell and when I sit listening for the Lord to speak, I find that the silence is deafening. Have you ever been there? It is difficult, especially if you are looking for guidance.

Instead, I am finding that the Lord is speaking and guiding me in an entirely new way at the moment. For example, He is talking to me through the loving care of friends, through a nudge to phone someone immediately (only to find that the timing of the phone call is spot on) and maybe the most important realisation of all is that the Lord can work things out through my prayers, without me being actively involved at all.

So, now I am trying to listen and see the Lord in a different way, from a different perspective, through new glasses if you like and using a different hearing aid.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your loving guidance coming to me in so many different ways. Please keep me open to whichever way You want to speak to me and also how you choose to speak. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
