How blessed is the one whom You choose to bring near to You to dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, Your holy temple.
Psalm 65:4, NASB1995

I think we humans have a tendency to complicate things in our desire to explain things in more clearly. Our hope is that we can help people to understand what we have learned. It seems to me that believers are good at doing this.

We preach messages, have seminars and write books, such as ‘Three Steps to This’ and ‘Five Ways to That’.  We hope that if we can find the ‘magic’ formula or method, we’ll finally have the answer.

But when it comes to knowing God, I mean really knowing him personally, intimately, it’s simple. It’s simple because God knows we are simple.

This is God’s way to intimate fellowship. Are you ready? It’s one step only. Write it down so you don’t forget it. It’s ‘Just come.’

Yes, that’s it. No formula, no ritual. It doesn’t have to be in a special place or position. Hebrews 4:14 says to come as you are and you will be received.

You can come in the quiet of your bedroom or in the noise of a traffic jam. You can come in times of great joy or great sorrow. You can come on your knees or on your face. You can stand or sit. It could even be lying in your bed when you can’t sleep. Because God is there.

Scripture says, ‘You are a temple of the Holy Spirit’. You bring God wherever you go.

Just one other thing, God wants to be close to you. Jesus died on the cross so that you could Know God. So, forget formulas or multistep plans. Just come. He’s waiting for you.
