Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need. Luke 9:11

Seeds of the Kingdom

Holiness and Wholeness.

by David Cross

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:23, NASB

Holiness and wholeness are not optional extras from God’s point of view. They are part of the essential purposes of God for all His children, His plan of restoration in our lives. They are for His pleasure, for our well-being, and for us to be prepared for the return of Jesus.

Of course, we have a choice as to how fully we put ourselves into His hands, for Him to carry out the process. It can be invasive, and it can be lengthy but, like the cleaning and restoration of a precious work of art, the end result is a delight to the owner.

Of course, Father God actually loves us, one of His human masterpieces, just as we are, but He sees the hidden beauty, the hidden colour, the hidden fine detail, and He is longing to see us fully repaired and preserved complete for the return of His Son.

Today could be a good day for putting ourselves into the hands of the Master Restorer.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for the opportunity for divine repair, and thank You that this has been made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus. I’m willing for You to bring to light and to restore the holy and whole person You intended me to be. Amen.
