His Ways are Past Finding Out

by Pam Smith

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out.
Romans 11:33, NKJ

That His ways are ‘past finding out’ must be the understatement of all time. The prophet Isaiah expresses it so well; ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts’ (Isaiah 55:9). God knows the past, present and future. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is omniscient. He has the knowledge of all things. He not only knows all people but also knows the working and reasoning of their hearts and minds.

He created the laws of science, physics and nature. He’s the source of wisdom in every human technology invented. He created the mind of every great scientist and mathematician, and the emotions of every artist. He gives gifts to mankind and reveals His secrets to us.

God knows everything about us, but how little we know about our Creator. Yet God has made us in His image, and so that we would know what He’s really like, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is described by the writer of Hebrews as the express image of God the Father and as being holy and full of love, grace and light: ‘who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, holy and full of love, grace and light,’ (Hebrews 1:3).

As little children are confident and secure because they trust their dad knows everything, how much more can we be safe and secure! Our loving Heavenly Father not only knows everything, but holds and rules everything, in and beyond the universe. We can have confidence today and hope in the future as we place ourselves in the hands of Jesus.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I stand in awe and and silent praise when I think of Your greatness and glory. I come in grateful worship to You, In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
